As of 11 January 2024, the Data Act (DA) has entered into force. This piece of EU legislation aims to foster innovation, boost the digital economy, and create a more open and fair data-driven market.

The Data Act empowers users by granting them access to data generated by their connected devices, enabling seamless sharing with third parties to unlock innovative services. It also simplifies switching between cloud providers for greater flexibility and establishes clear rules for data holders, ensuring they use and share data responsibly while protecting privacy and competition.
